La 81.ª entrega anual de los Golden Globes, uno de los principales galardones del mundo del espectáculo que reconoce los logros de la televisión y el cine, ya tiene finalistas.Tal como se esperaba, títulos como Succession, The Bear y Only Murders in the Building volaron alto en el renglón de las series, y las taquilleras, Barbie y Oppenheimer en el de las películas. En el terreno de la producción, Warner Bros. Discovery lideró la competencia de grupos al sumar un total de 35 nominaciones. Lo escoltó Netflix en este terreno.
Nueve nominaciones cosechó la última temporada de la serie original de HBO, Succession, incluyendo Mejor Serie Dramática para Televisión, Mejor Actriz en Serie Dramática para Sarah Snook, 3 nominaciones en la categoría Mejor Actor en Serie Dramática para Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong y Kieran Culkin, 3 nominaciones en la categoría Mejor Actor de Reparto de Televisión para Alan Ruck, Alexander Skarsgård y Matthew MacFadyen y 1 nominación como Mejor Actriz de Reparto de Televisión para J. Smith-Cameron.
The Bear y Only Murders in the Building, con cinco cada uno, y The Crown, con cuatro. Beef, Daisy Jones & The Six, Fargo, The Last of Us y Ted Lasso obtuvieron tres nominaciones.
En películas, Barbie, de Warner Bros. Pictures, fue la más nominada del año con nueve en total, incluyendo Mejor Película Musical o de Comedia, Mejor Logro Cinematográfico y de Taquilla, Mejor Actriz en Película Musical o de Comedia para Margot Robbie, Mejor Actor de Reparto de Cine para Ryan Gosling, Mejor Director de Cine para Greta Gerwig, Mejor Guión de Cine para Greta Gerwig y Noah Baumbach, y 3 nominaciones por Mejor Canción Original de Cine para Dance the Night, I´m Just Ken y What Was I Made For?
Oppenheimer se situó en el segundo lugar con ocho, y Killers of the Flower Moon y Poor Things con siete cada una. Past Lives obtuvo cinco nominaciones.
La entrega de este año es la primera producida por su nuevo propietario, Dick Clark Productions, después de que la compañía adquiriera los Globos de Oro de la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera de Hollywood, en junio pasado. Este es un año histórico para los premios, con un nuevo liderazgo y un total de votantes ampliado: 300 personas en 75 países. Estas nominaciones marcan la primera vez que los estrategas y pronosticadores de premios obtendrán pistas sobre los gustos de los votantes más nuevos.
La programación incluye 25 categorías que regresan, además de dos nuevas: Mejor Actuación en Comedia Stand-Up en Televisión y Logro Cinematográfico y de Taquilla (CBOA) en Películas.
La primera categoría cubre contendientes de broadcast, cable, streaming y PPV. Después de tres nominaciones anteriores a los Globos y algunas temporadas notables como presentador, Ricky Gervais recibió una nominación por comedia stand-up, junto con otros cómicos con currículums en el que se incluyen presentadores de premios, como Chris Rock, Amy Schumer y Wanda Sykes.
La CBOA reconoce las películas que ganaron al menos US$ 150 millones en taquilla, o cifras de visualización equivalentes en streaming.
Para América Latina la gran gala se transmitirá en vivo en TNT y HBO Max el próximo 7 de enero desde Los Ángeles. Los comentarios y análisis de la transmisión latinoamericana estarán a cargo de Ileana Rodriguez y Rafael Sarmiento.
