El 20 de septiembre próximo, en la gala que tendrá a Andy Samberg como anfitrión, será la fecha acordada para que los nuevos dueños de Emmy, los correspondientes a la temporada 2014-2015, tengan sus dueños. La Academia de la Televisión de EEUU reveló los candidatos de la 67ª edición de premiación equivalente al Oscar de la televisión. Entre las series nominadas, Game of Thrones parte en la primera línea con la mayor cantidad de nominaciones, 24 horas en total. El drama de HBO enfrentará en la carrera individual de mayor fuste, el de mejor seriado, a competidores de gran nivel como Mad Men, Better Call Saul, House of Cards, Homeland, Orange Is the New Black y Downton Abbey.

En lo que respecta a los canales y plataformas online, HBO fue la más candidateada con 126 nominaciones en total. Netflix suma 32 candidaturas, situándose por arriba de los canales AMC con 24, o Showtime con 24. Amazon está en competencia con sus 12 nominaciones, casi todas por Transparent.

Una de las primeras sorpresas dejadas por el anuncio de las candidaturas no ha sido precisamente conocer el nombre de los pretendientes sino la de reconocer la falta en esa lista de otros que se suponían seguros. En el listado de ausentes sobresalen, entre otros, The Affair, Jane the Virgin, Girls, The Americans, Justified, y Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory).
