Un melanoma, diagnosticado en 1992, ha sido determinante en el fallecimiento este último viernes del actor James Rebhorn. Protagonista de papeles memorables en televisión y cine, el artista de 65 años había tenido una fuerte recaída en las últimas dos semanas, atendido en su casa de Nueva Jersey.

Rebhorn, nacido en Filadelfia, prácticamente estuvo toda su vida en la actuación pues comenzó desde muy joven una carrera que pocas veces detuvo. Su rol en Homeland, el drama de Showtime, interpretando al padre de Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), la agente de la CIA, fue uno de los últimos trabajos que lo ha tenido en la pantalla.

Otro reciente ha sido su papel en el éxito de USA Network, White Collar, como el agente especial Reese Hughes, jefe de la unidad White-Collar del FBI en Manhattan. La pasada semana justamente la serie fue renovada para una temporada final de seis episodios.

Su aspecto físico, que le daba halo de hombre de leyes, lo ha tenido muchas veces en roles vinculados. Seinfeld, The Practice and Boston Legal, Third Watch, The Book of Daniel, Law & Order y Big Lake, lo han mostrado en papeles parecidos.

Rebhorn tuvo participaciones de relevancia en los filmes Perfume de mujer, My Cousin Vinny (ambas de 1992) y The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle (2000).
